David Michael Zaccaria was born in Price, Utah, in 1987. He grew up with a camera in his hands, making short films and "plays" with his siblings and friends starting at the age of six. In his early teens, he made a series of three comedic horror movies called "Bloodshank" with his younger brother and friends. In high school, he was a member of a group that created the weekly school news, which often turned into a platform for comedy sketches.

After high school, David started a sketch comedy website called “The Misty Sanctum” and created over 40 comedy sketches. In 2006, David co-wrote and co-directed a 50 minute horror film based on his old  Bloodshank movies. In 2007, David attended The Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood, California, majoring in Film Directing and Cinematography. After graduating in the summer of 2008, David moved to Salt Lake City. In 2009, he made the short film “Under the Trees," which was accepted by the Queens International Film Festival, the Honolulu International Festival (where it won an Aloha Accolade award), and the Thriller! Chiller! Film Festival. In 2010, he wrote and directed a short film called "The Pail."

In 2011, David finished writing a feature screenplay titled "Come No Further." After deciding that the film would be too expensive to make, he wrote the story as a novel instead, completing it in 2015. 2015 is also the year David started to writing poetry. From 2015 to 2022, David has been writing poetry and working on his second novel, Gravity is Green. Over the last seven years, David has written over 1,500 poems, two feature screenplays, and has completed two novels. He posts selected poems on his Instagram account @dark.moon.zeta.

David loves to read, hike, stargaze, discuss "out there" topics, and listen to great music. He is one quarter Italian and one quarter Greek.
